They killed our God. We, his followers, are lost. What do we do with all our suffering? We sit in silence and shock, numbed and overwhelmed by pain and grief. How do we move on?

Holy Saturday invites us to walk in the shoes of the first disciples. Beginning from the darkness of Good Friday, we offer an experiential prayer service that invites participants to reflect on the role of harm in their own life and the lives of those impacted by environmental degradation and extractive industries.

This prayer service, written by Alexandra Carroll, M.T.S., Director of Communications at Catholic Mobilizing Network and adapted for this calendar, lifts up Holy Saturday as an example of God's unceasing love, and as a source of hope for those looking for life after trauma.
